Lawson's Dry Hills Marlborough Pinot Noir 2007
Winemaker: Marcus Wright / Rebecca Wiffen.
Alcohol: 14%% pH: 3.5 RS: 1.5 g/L
TA: 5.7 g/L Brix: 24.5
The excellent 2007 vintage allowed us to hand pick this Pinot Noir in prefect condition with concentrated berry fruit flavours.
Sourced from the Bransley and the Potez(Brookby Ridge) vineyards and fermented in small batches, the wine was then matured in French oak barriques,25% which were new. This wine features black cherry, red berry fruit and fragrant spicy vanilla oak aromas, whilst the palate displays concentrated dark berry fruit flavours, supple tannins and a wonderful length.
enjoy 2008 - 2012.
Enjoy in moderation with a roasted pork loin and winter vegetables.

A spicy wine with mouthfilling sweet fruit and toasty oak, savoury hints of mushrooms and a firm finish.
Fresh, lifted, floral nose. Ripe and tasty, packed with cherry, strawberry and savoury spice. Clean, fresh, mid-weight wine showing really good concentration and complexity. The oak influence is moderate and nicely integrated, all finishing up with superb tannins. A great food style.

A jewel - like, Ruby red and translucent in colour, this wine is packed with intense current and cherry flavours, and its oh so smooth - nothing furry or tannics as with heavier reds. I liked the vanilla and oak notes, and it has great length.

The 2007 Lawson's Dry Hills Pinot Noir has a very enticing aroma with lots of rhubarb, dark plum and sweet spice. The palate is soft and sweet, juicy cherry fruit to the fore, and just a bit of noticeable oak coming through, giving a slight mocha/coffee edge.
BEST OF REGIONAL NEW ZEALAND. Fragrant and ruby hued with strong plum, cherry and spice flavours. Showing some savoury complexity and supple tannins.
The Marlborough Express
Colour: Garnet with flashes of crimson. Aroma: Smoky wood, cloves and plums combine with some brisker green herbal notes. Vanilla and spicy meat aromas add interest and complexity. Taste: Plums, dark berry fruit and chocolate combine with some spicy notes in this warming wine with lively tannins. Enjoyable, oaky, old fruit flavours combine with classic herbal notes and that warmth we've mentioned runs across the palate. A soft, ripe, rich wine that's very rewarding - right out to the long luscious aftertaste. Price: If you can find a bottle, grab it. At around $29.00, it's superb.

Youthful yet expanding style, good life and some fresh fruit with vibrancy and the potential to open right up through 2009. A stylish young Pinot Noir expanding nicely as fine wines from this variety do. Will be great by christmas.
