Winemakers Notes |
The grapes were machine harvested before being held on skins for forty-eight hours to allow colour pigments and berry fruit flavours to diffuse from the grape skins into the juice. The must was then pressed and the the resulting juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures to retain the fresh fruit characters. |
Viticulture Notes |
Sourced from our Chaytors Road vineyard off eight year old 10/5 clone Pinot Noir vines. These vines were spur pruned to encourage small berries with intense colour and flavour. This vineyard was specially selected for the production of Róse allowing us to pick the grapes relatively early in the season and retain the grapes natural acidity while keeping sugars and therefore alcohol at a relatively low level. |
Cellaring |
Drink whilst fresh and young to enjoy the wonderful primary fruit characters. |
