Named after the Maori verb meaning "to mix" - a single bin each of Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer was hand-harvested on April 11th from different blocks, blended and fermented wild, to creat a wine that commemorates Lawson's Dry Hills 25th anniversary. It's a glorious, gussy-up of citrus, peach and musky magic. Juicy and succulent, it's the apple, nashi and lemon verbena notes that lift it to the next level of loveliness. Sip with: gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce.

Fermented partially in barrels with indigenous yeasts, this complex offering displays tropical fruit, peach, lime zest and oatmeal characters on the nose. The palate is concentrated, powerful and delivers loads of attractive fruit flavours together with elegant savoury nuances. The wine offers lovely mouthfeel and flows to a vibrant finish.

The 2017 Reserve Sauvignon Blanc tones down the variety's effusive notes by including a portion of puncheon-fermented fruit. As a result, there's some delicate notes of pencil shaving framing grapefruit aromes and flavours. It's medium to full-bodied with a lingering, citrusy finish.

Tart gooseberry, a lovely combination of herbal and citrus notes. Lifted white pepper note on a citrus finish.

Classically expressed, the fabulous bouquet shows nectarine, feijoa, lemon peel and sweet basil aromas, leading to an intensely flavoured palate that is juicy and lively. The wine is instantly appealing and offers terrific drinking.

The Wine Advocate - 90 points

Classy aromas of gooseberries, snow peas and nectarine burst forth on the nose of the 2017 Sauvignon Blanc. This plump, medium-bodied white is tailor-made for summertime drinking, with vibrant fruit that will stand up to a cold refrigerator, yet it has enough complexity to satisfy when served at warmer temperatures.

Raymond Chan Wine Reviews - Five Stars

Bright, even, light straw-yellow colour with some depth. The nose is firm and well-packed with a core of passionfruit harmoniously melded with nettle, cut-grass, green capsicum and snow pea aromas, unveiling some chalky mineral notes. The aromatics are layered and detailed. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a  tightly bound heart with penetrating and intense flavours of passionfruit intermixed with nettles, fresh herbs, snow peas and nuances of minerals. The fruit has richness and sweetness and is enlivened by racy acidity, and the wine carries with good energy along a very fine-textured line. This has concentration and linearity, and the carries to a very long and sustained finish of passionfruit, herbs and nettles. This is a firmly-packed, intense, rich-fruited Sauvignon Blanc with real linearity. Match with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 year. Fruit from 5 sites, in the Waihopai, Dashwood, outside Renwick and on Alabama Road, fermented in stainless-steel with 7% indigenous yeast fermented in seasoned French oak barriques to 12.5% alc and 2.2g/L RS.

Michael Cooper - Four stars

One of the region's best, widely available Sauvignon Blancs, this stylish wine is vibrant, intense and finely structured. The grapes are grown at several sites, mostly in the Southern Valleys and to add a subtle extra dimension, part of the blend (7 per cent in 2017) is fermented with indigenous yeasts in old French oak barriques. The wine typically has strong impact in its youth, but also has a proven ability to age, acquiring toasty, minerally compexities. Bright, light lemon/green, medium to full-bodied wine, fresh and vibrant with good intensity of melon and green-capsicum flavours. Dry, lingering finish - Fine value.

$15.00 - $20.00 "An unashamed big flavoursome wine" commented one judge. It has intense lifted passionfruit esters and nice toasty pungency on the beautifully textured palate. The aromatics are big and punchy with lots of passionfruit, herbaceous and citrus notes. The palate is smooth and packed with a lovely intensity of flavour - passionfruit, citrus and more tropical fruit characters lead to an attractive herbaceous finish.Bright and refreshing - Classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

North and South magazine - December 2017. - Four stars

One of the country's most impressive Gewürztraminers. Grown on the Home block and near Woodward vineyards. Mostly fermented in stainless steel tanks; a key part of the blend (about 15%) is given 'the full treatment', with a high-solids, indigenous yeast ferment in seasoned French oak barriques, malolactic fermentation and lee-stirring. The 2016 vintage is benchmark stuff, bright, light lemon/green. It is weighty and well rounded, with generous, youthful peach, pear, lychee, spice flavours and a rich, slightly sweet (7.5grams/litre of residual sugar) very harmonious finish. It's already delicious.

Offering fine value. the deeply coloured 2015 vintage was grown on two sites in the Waihopai Valley and matured for ten months in French oak barriques (25% new). Amazing colour for the variety. Cherry cola characters on the nose with oaky spiciness. Well focused brooding savoury fruit flavours, chunky tannins and good oak use.

Scented Pinot Noir with rich dark-fleshed plums, black cherry and smoky oak flavours. A succulent wine with a good backbone of drying tannins that help a lengthy finish. Good now, better with a little bottle-age.

Late-picked, the 2015 vintage was fermented with indigenous yeasts in old French oak casks. Light lemon/green, it is scented and slightly honeyed with a mouthfilling body and an array of peach, pear, spice, lychee and honey flavours. Quite a dense, flavoursome Pinot Noir with plum, dark cherry and berry flavours plus a strong influence of toasty French oak. A tad closed right now but should become more accessible with bottle age. (26/7/2016)

The Shout - Cameron Douglas - 91 points

Ripe, juicy and fleshy fruits bouquet with aromas of apricot stone, peach, pear, mandarin and apple. Quite floral and with suggestions of wet stone minerals - very attractive. On the palate - just off-dry with a little residual sweetness; fresh and crisp acidity, has a ripeness about it which enchances the orchard fruit flavours suggested on the nose; a wine that dances nicely across the palate - drink now and through to 2026.
