Judges comments - This is a sweeter style of Gewürztraminer that's especially golden and pretty in the glass."I love the caramelized, honeyed notes; grilled peach, lychee and ginger on the nose," said Yvonne. "And it's super succulent on the palate". Andrew described it as " a decadent style, which has great freshness and balance".

No point beating around the bush - this wine has a fantastic aroma; lemon grass, citrus - a lovely ripe fruity/herbal blend with a soft floral note sitting in the background. The weighty, ripe palate delivers plenty of passionfruit and citrus flavours with clean, crisp herbaceous definition. Avery generous full-bodied wine that will suit a special occasion and deserves its 'Reserve' title. Both the Sauvignon Blancs reviewed here are proof that, when well-made, a good savy will age with increasing generosity in terms of taste and texture. They will partner baked salmon or light white meats.

SATISFYING SAV.... I've long been a fan of Lawson's Dry Hills and while favourites can easily fade in the wine world, this reserve wine is the winery at its best. It's light coloured, brimful of zingy, intense tropical fruit in a lovely balanced style. CLASSY AND SATISFYING.

Otago Daily Times - FOUR STARS

February 26th 2014

Pungent with a hint of minerality and sweet fruits - kiwi, citrus. Held in restraint at present by the tight acidity and dry finish. This is unusually restrained for a Sauvignon Blanc, but I suspect a few more months will allow it to reveal its potential.

Raymond Chan Wine Reviews - FIVE STARS

December 2013

Lifted aromatics emerge from a deeply packed core of ripe of tropical and passionfruit, lime, florals and sweet herbs. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied. A packed and densely concentrated heart of sweet and slippery passionfruit is the main feature.

Autumn 2014 issue

A pretty, sweet-fruited, floral nose with some spicy, yeasty influence. Dry on the palate, firm and well balanced with good intensity of lychee, rose petal and apricot. Shows moderate concentration and nice depth of flavour. Lithe and long with just a hint of warmth showing on the finish. This should develop greater complexity with a little time in the bottle.

Vibrant, lifted and enticing are words to sum up the aroma. Gooseberry, freshly cut grass and melon notes set the scene. A lovely, fleshy wine with a blend of creamy and crisp notes. Concentrated, deeply flavoured with plenty of lime and tropicla notes. The integrated, full-bodied palate is textured with an overlay of apple/citrus notes from start to finish. Tomato leaf aromas add interest and soft minerality ensures the finish is refreshingly dry.A delightful wine, oozes class and just waiting to be enjoyed.

This is an elegant and intensely concentrated, dry Sauvignon Blanc, with passionfruit flavours and a chalky, textural line. The wine carries the herb, flint and minerally flavours to a very long and sustained, firm finish.

One of the regions best, widely available Sauvignon Blancs, this stylish wine is vibrant, intense and finely structured. Punchy and sweet-fruited, with ripely herbaceous, melon/capsicum flavours, a subtle oak influence adding complexity. A crisp, long finish.

The National Business Review - The best 2013

May 21st 2014

Lawson's Dry Hills Reserve Pinot Noir 2012 - Across the board, Lawson's Dry Hills produce an exceptional array of wines at very good prices, this Pinot Noir being one. With its lovely floral aromatics and rich, complex, spicy palate it provides a fine example of where Marlborough Pinot Noir is heading. 2012 was a very successful vintage in Marlborough with the 2013 vintage promising to be even better.
