Having grown up in Africa, briefly schooled in England and having spent time in the Merchant Navy, Tim sailed into a career in the advertising industry, that resulted in him spending thirty years in Asia. Over these thirty years he was Global Creative Director for Singapore Airlines, CEO of DDB in Singapore/Hong Kong and Vice Chairman of DDB Asia.
His last stint was six years working in Beijing as Brand Strategist for Mercedes Benz.
Tim has always spent as much time as possible in New Zealand, in 1995 he and his wife Pauline brought the Public Trust building in Blenheim and created the Hotel d'Urville. Here he met Ross Lawson and together they began buying vineyards around Marlborough, some years later the Evill/Lawson vineyards and Lawson's Dry Hills amalgamated and Ross, Barbara,Tim and Pauline became the shareholder of Lawson's Dry Hills. After so many years in partnership with Ross and Barbara, it seemed only natural for Tim and Pauline to eventually buy the Lawson's family shares when Barbara chose to retire. Tim and Pauline have taken over as owners of Lawson's Dry Hills together with the management team.
Tim will be putting his many years of brand building experience to good use as he works with the team to take the Lawson's Dry Hills brand to even greater heights.
