Produced from the Barnley vineyard in the Waihopai Valley where perfect soils and microclimate have combined to produce a Pinot Noir with both finesse and density. This wine was made from Clones 5 (80%) and 115 (20%). Hand plunged with extended maceration before aging in one new and four one year old barriques for sixteen months. Opulent berry fruit, subtle oak, wonderful concentration and great structure make this wine something special.


This wine will develop nicely over the next few years and should be at its best around 2015 - 2016.

A fitting tribute to Marlborough legend Ross Lawson. This is an eminently drinkable wine. Floral scents set the scene for a blueberry, cherry, chocolate and oak-seasoned palate. Solid walls of tannin give direction and texture.
