Tasting Notes
Beautiful ripe passion fruit and citrus aromas leap from the glass. The palate display's a full array of flavour's from passion fruit, lime and tropical fruits, through to gentle fresh green herbs. This wine is finely balanced, the dry palate has crisp acidity and a lovely minerality.
Winemaker's Notes
The key thing during the 2014 vintage was to pick each parcel of grapes whilst they had optimal flavours. Once in the winery the grapes were gently pressed and fermented cool, predominantly in stainless steel tanks to retain the wines aromatic characters. A small portion of the blend (8%) was fermented in seasoned French oak barriques. Post fermentation the wines were allowed to rest on the yeast lees for several months. We then select only the best barrels and tanks for the final blend.
Viticulture Notes
The grapes for this wine come from seven different vineyards and represent all of the Marlborough sub-regions, with an emphasis on the clay soils of the Southern Valleys (70%) with an important contribution from the Rapuara area (10%), and the Awatere (8.3%). Our Chaytors Road Vineyard and other vineyards in the lower Wairau Valley make up the balance. This mixture provides the diverse array of flavours, aromas and textures that are seen in these different areas. We shoot thinned and leaf plucked as needed, we harvested based on flavour and condition of the fruit, with the aim being - crisp acidity and a high level of passion fruit flavour.

Vibrant gooseberry and grassy aromas. Light on its feet but clean, almost shimmers in the glass with fresh tastes of lemon, lime and some tropical fruit on the palate. There's a little green apple creating great acidity and something vegetal on the finish that reminded me of green peppers. Made me think that it would be a nice white wine with a salad nicoise or sushi, a great lunch wine or as a refreshing glass of wine on its own
Raymond Chan Wine Reviews - Four Stars
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues. The nose is fresh and tightly bound with penetrating aromas of lively pungent passionfruit, lifted herbs and bright floral detail. Dry to taste and medium bodied, tight and piercing fruit flavours of gooseberries, florals and herbs form a very finely textured, vibrant and energetic line. The mouthfeel has fresh acid cut and reveals some passionfruit and minerally detail. This is an elegant, tightly bound lively Sauvignon Blanc with floral and gooseberry flavours.
