The gravelly soils of our Chaytors Road vineyard near the Marlborough coast, produce Chardonnay with small, intensely flavoured berries. Picked at optimum ripeness, gently pressed and then transferred into French oak barriques (25% new) for fermentation with natural 'wild' yeast.
This Chardonnay has wonderful complexity showing citrus, fragrant oak and mealy characters. The palate is rich and textured with a bright acidity that provides focus and length.
Cellaring
Four to ten years

Richer dishes - roast pork or chicken, creamy risotto, grilled salmon.
