Five stars - best buy....A whiff of toast mingles with lifted Rose's lime juice scents. In the mouth this Riesling has length and elegance, lime and stonefruit notes propelled by fine ripe acidity. Serve it alongside a salad of rocket, heirloom tomatoes and grilled eggplant.

Cuisine Magazine 169 - March 2015 - FIVE STARS

March 2015

This wineries Gewürztraminer consistently impresses. The conditions were there in 2013 to do so again and the team at Lawson's Dry Hills has delivered. Lychee and rosewater notes unfold gently on the palate - this medium-style wine has the poise, depth and structural ease that come with old vine fruit.

Bob Campbell MW - Five stars - 95 points

Pale gold, chicken stock, flint, touch of smoke and musk on the nose. Quite recital and interesting on the palate, minerally with a nutty, meal dimension. Perhaps a bit oak dominant, that being said it has acidity to counteract the richness. (12/2/2015)

The Press - Zest - DELICATE AND PURE

January 15th 2014

Looking for something different? Try this, it is delicate, but not overly floral and is medium dry. Lychees, pears, grapefruit and peach flavour predominate. Served well chilled, the wine is crisp and pure. It would make a good match with subtle Asian dishes and fish. We tried it with salmon, feta and spinach pie.

Raymond Chan Wine Reviews

On Line - April 2013.

15% fermented in older French oak barriques, The nose is very fine and tightly concentrated with an amalgam of rose petals, exotic musk and ginger with mineral notes. Medium dry to taste, the flavours of rose petals, minerals and ginger are very tight and firmly bound, forming a concentrated core to the palate. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich, near unctuous in texture and the richness is enhanced by some alcohol warmth. the flavours carry through to a firm, concentrated and lingering finish with classical varietal elements. This is a concentrated and unctuous off-dry Gewürztraminer that will unfold more of its exotic flavours with bottle age.

TREAT OF THE WEEK - Marlborough's Lawson's dry Hills is a top aromatic white winery, thanks to owner Barbara Lawson, this wine tastes like a walk in a rose garden thanks to aromas of red rose, frangipani and ripe peach. Tasting

On line - August 2013.

Lawson's Dry Hills have a long established reputation for making top quality Gewürztraminer - and deservedly so. This is a prime example, it exhibits rose petal aromas and is choc full of sweet, juicy lychee flavours with a flinty backbone and a long elegant finish.

Michael Cooper Buyers Guide to New Zealand Wine 2014 - SUPER CLASSIC - FIVE STARS.

One of the country's most impressive Gewürztraminers. A medium dry style, ripely perfumed, fleshy and soft with a slightly oily texture. Peachy, gingery and spicy flavours showing excellent varietal definition, harmony and richness.
